The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on Cyberspace Held in Wuzhen

Hosted by National Development and Reform Commission, P.R.China and Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, organized by Internet Society of China (ISC), the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on Cyberspace of the 6th World Internet Conference held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province on Oct 21st, 2019.
Mr. Liu Liehong, Vice Minister of Cyberspace Administration of China, Mr. Renzhiwu, Deputy Secretary General, National Development and Reform Commission, P.R.China, Mr. Wang Chao, President of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Feng Fei, Executive Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province attended the forum opening ceremony and delevered opening remarks.
Mr. Shang Bing, President of ISC, attended the forum and delivered keynote speech, in which he proposed three initiatives: First, we should strengthen interconnectivity of IT infrastructure by promoting effective alignment of strategic planning, policies for development and technological standards between countries, accelerating construction of international technological collaboration bases and joint R&D centers, sharing key technologies and development experience, and advancing construction of cross-border IT infrastructure. Second, we should advocate in-depth integration of the Internet with real economy by enhancing close cooperation in the fields of 5G, Industrial Internet as well as transformation and innovation of digitalization. Third, we should reinforce joint governance in the cyberspace. Based on current collaborative systems between countries, we should leverage advantages and multilateral coordination of international organizations, be actively engaged in the development of a joint governing system of the cyberspace featuring shared resources and responsibilities, champion understanding and inclusion rather than misunderstanding and prejudice, and promote common growth via mutual learning for faster development of a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
Senior government officials and leading entrepreneurs from home and abroad, include Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz, First Deputy Minister, Ministry of Communications from Cuba Wilfredo González Vidal, Chairman of League of Portugal-China Lasting Friendship José Luís Pinto Ramalho delivered keynote speeches, exploring ways to achieve sustainable and high-quality development of the Internet along the Belt and Road, sharing excellent concepts and practices on Internet development to reach consensus on building a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
In the session Embracing the Challenges and Opportunities for a Better Future, the forum invited Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs and experts to make discussions on two topics Promoting Digital Silk Road Cooperation, and Jointly Building a Secure Cyberspace.
