The 8th US-China Internet Industry Forum Hold in Seattle

On Sept.23rd, the 8th US-China Internet Industry Forum (UCIIF), hosted by the Internet Society of China (ISC) and Microsoft, held in Seattle US. China’s President Xi Jinping attended the Forum and took group photo with the entrepreneurs of Internet giants of the two countries.
Mr. Lu Wei, Minister of Cyberspace Administration of China, delivered a keynote speech, pointing out that as China and the US’s complement and integrity in depth with each other in cyberspace, mutual benefit and win-win are the inevitable choice of history.
In his speech, Mr. Lu said that President Xi Jinping has stressed on many occasions that the essence of China-US relationship is mutual benefit and win-win. Chinese government will unswervingly implement the basic national policy of opening-up by adopting a more active opening-up strategy, unswervingly improving the level of the open economy, unswervingly bring in foreign investment and foreign technology and unswervingly improve the system and mechanism of opening-up. These four "unswervingly" not only demonstrate an open and inclusive mind to embrace the world, but also further enhance the confidence in mutual benefit and win-win of the Internet industry in both China and the US.
Lu Wei said that US-China should work together in cyber security. He also put forward four advices. First, enhance strategic mutual trust. Second, jointly lead digital economy. Third, jointly maintain cyberspace security. Fourth, jointly explore the code of conduct.
On the opening ceremony, Mr. Wu Hequan, President of ISC, delivers a welcome speech. China Internet development environment continually has a positive change since last US-China Internet Industry Forum. From the beginning of this year, Chinese government successively carried out policies on Internet and made major strategic deployment and design to improve the integrative development of economy and society, strengthening infrastructure construction, which made a positive and profound influence to the future of Internet in China. He also said that America has the most developed technology and application in Internet, and China is the country of the most Internet users. The digital economy of two countries maintains a sound development trend that we should pay attention to emerging industrial Internet development. The two countries have different Internet development character and status, but with the same goal to improve Internet digital development and common interest appealing for cooperation and mutual benefit.
During the forum, several Internet companies of two countries signed cooperation agreements.
