The Third China Smart Enterprise DevelopmentAnnual Meeting Held in Beijing

On April 17, 2014, the Third China Smart Enterprise Development Annual Meeting was held in Beijing. Themed with “Smart & Transformation—Value of Internet Thinking Innovation Enterprise”, this meeting was hosted by the Internet Society of China (ISC) and Govmade Informatization Development Research Center.
Mr. Xu Yu, the Director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Informatization Department, attended the meeting and addressed a speech. He said that the rapid growth of Internet industry evidently promoted the real economy in recent years. Along with the acceleration of the convergence of Internet and traditional industries, the role of Internet as a service platform got prominent. Because technology and business experienced rapid development and traditional industries increasingly converged with Internet, new business modes and commercial activities emerged and the traditional industries transformation got promoted and upgraded. He also expressed his expectation that the enterprises could meet better development by transformation, innovation and solid work.
Mr. Lu Wei, the Secretary-General of ISC, said that Internet could drive China economy development and remodel newly-developing business model in three or more aspects, that is, as the new engine in boosting economy, Internet spurs the stable growth of information consumption, drives traditional industry giants for Internet-based development and boosts the new economic growth point in accordance with the rapid and innovative development of technology, business and model.
Mr. Gao Xingmin, the Vice President of ISC, delivered a speech with the subject of Internet-based Industry—the Turning Point of Internet Economy. He said that Internet economy has broadened its realm from e-commerce towards Internet-based development. Internet-based industry is the convergence of Internet and the traditional industry, which is in a harmony relationship of competition and cooperation instead of to overturn or to be overturned.
Mr. Yang Bingzhi, the President and Principal Researcher of Govmade, pointed out that Internet thinking is adjusting the enterprise’s developing strategy, which means the traditional enterprise can improve production efficiency, service level and competitiveness by taking full advantage of Internet.
On the meeting, Mr. Chen Zhongping, the Assistant Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Committee of the State Council, initiated the release ceremony of his new book Exploration and Practice on Giant Portal Capability Building. In this book, eight capabilities of giant portals are mentioned for the first time.
In addition, Ms. Zheng Aijun, the General Manager and Principal Planner of Govmade, released the assessment result of Top 500 China enterprises by their influence on Internet and announced the list of enterprises who won comprehensive and special award.
During this meeting, the participants discussed and exchanges opinions on the hot topics, such as smart enterprise, mobile Internet, platform economics, e-commerce, Internet thinking and Internet finance.
