“12321 Unsolicited Electronic Messages Complaint and Reporting Center” of ISC celebrated its 1 anniversary in Beijing with a symposium on Apr 29, 2009.

According to the meeting, about 1.237 million reports were received by the Center since from the foundation on Apr 28 last year. Through analysis and classification, the public reports included 1.04 million complaints on mobile network illegal and unsolicited messages, 187 thousand reports on Internet illegal and unsolicited messages and 7,424 on fixed telephone network illegal and unsolicited messages.

Ms. LI Hong, the Standing Executive Director of “12321 Reporting Center”, said that the Center would focus on further self-construction and governance of mobile Internet in year 2009, strengthen cooperation with relevant agencies or institutions and welcome supervision from mass media, promote and raise up public education and awareness.

More than 80 participants attended the meeting including representatives from ISPs, ESPs, mobile operators, Internet enterprises, mass media, netizens, government sectors etc. The participants actively offered various valuable opinions, suggestions or advice on unsolicited electronic messages governance.
