Recently, more and more citizens were bothered by SMS spam and nuisance calls. Therefore, how to crack down the SMS spam and ensure telecommunication security became the issues to be handled. In the afternoon of November 28, 2014, 12321 Reporting Center of Internet Society of China (ISC) cooperated with Sogou.com Inc. to launch the “Easy Reporting Channel”, through which the subscriber could report SMS spam number through a number-mark app called “Sogou Haomatong”.

Sogou Haomatong is a type of app that could mark the phone number. When got a nuisance call, the subscriber could mark the number and blocked the number from calling again. Based on the cooperation, Sogou and 12321 Reporting Center shared the data base of the SMS spam number. By combining the functions of “mark”, “report” and “feedback”, it could effectively realize interconnection and give response between the two sides at anytime. 

Mr. LU Wei, the Secretary-general of ISC said that launching “Easy Reporting Channel” conformed to the feature of “Everyone’s participation” in the Internet Era. ISC will continue enhance industry self-regulation and constructing safe Internet environment with the joint efforts within the industry; encourage report and supervision by the public and netizen; strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, and promote a civilized online environment shared by all. 

Mr. YANG Hongtao, the Vice President of Sogou.com Inc., pointed out that it is necessary to unite government, operators, companies and subscribers to build a security cycle, so as to successfully crack down SMS spam. Also, he said that Sogou will continue to cooperate with relevant government agencies to build harmonious and healthy Internet environment.
