From the specific data, by the end of 2019, the number of mobile Internet users in China reached 1.319 billion, accounting for 32.17% of the total number of Internet users in the world; the total number of 4G base stations reached 5.44 million, accounting for more than half of the total global 4G base stations; mobile Internet access traffic consumption reached 122 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 71.6%; e-commerce transaction scale was 34.81 trillion yuan, ranking first in the global e-commerce market for consecutive years; online payment transaction volume reached 249.88 trillion yuan, and the penetration rate of mobile payment ranks among the highest in the world Leading level; the added value of the national digital economy has reached 35.8 trillion yuan, ranking second in the world.

He Guili pointed out that from the perspective of the external environment of industrial development, the construction of new strategic and network-based information infrastructure and the application of new-generation information technology such as cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality have endowed the development of the Internet with innovative vitality. From the perspective of Internet applications and services, “Internet Plus” continues to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. The market size of various Internet segments has grown steadily, the industry environment has been continuously optimized, new products and new business formats have emerged one after another, and the service model has continued to iteratively evolve, and the market pattern is reshuffled and innovated.
